Intake.now didn’t start with technology. It started at home.
We are Kim and Lode, the founders of Intake.now.
Our partners both work in healthcare. We see first-hand how rewarding it is to care for others. Helping people. Listening. Being there when someone needs you.
But we also saw something else.
After a long day at work, the work was often far from over.
Once the last patient had been seen, there were still medical histories and reports to complete. Whatever there had been no time for during the day came home with them.
To the kitchen table.
Into the evening.
Into time that was supposed to be for family.
And because we have children ourselves, we felt what losing that time really meant.
Quickly finishing one more medical history could easily turn into another evening where work came first. Plans had to change. Time together became shorter. Rest had to wait.
Not because our partners were any less passionate about working in healthcare. Quite the opposite.
But caring for others shouldn’t mean having less and less time for your own life.
We realised it wasn’t just our story
We started talking about it with other people working in healthcare.
Physiotherapists. General practitioners. Nurses. Other healthcare professionals.
And we kept hearing the same story.
A schedule that fills up. A patient who unexpectedly needs more time. Administration that simply doesn’t fit between consultations. Medical histories that therefore have to be completed in the evening.
The more we listened, the clearer it became: this wasn’t a problem affecting just two families. It was a problem we encountered throughout healthcare.
Healthcare professionals were losing valuable time to administration, when that same time could be spent with their patients, their families or simply on themselves.
So we started looking for a solution.
We can’t make healthcare less demanding. But we can make administration easier.
We didn’t want to give healthcare professionals yet another complicated system.
Technology needed to adapt to the healthcare professional, not the other way around.
That’s why, together with healthcare professionals, we developed Intake.now: a smart assistant that turns spoken medical histories into structured, ready-to-use reports for the patient record.
The principle is simple: the healthcare professional has the conversation with the patient. Intake.now helps turn that spoken medical history into a structured, usable report. The healthcare professional reviews the result and then uses it in the existing patient record.
Not technology for technology’s sake.
But technology that helps solve one very concrete problem. Time.
Experienced first-hand. Developed together with healthcare professionals.
It’s important to us that Intake.now was born out of the everyday reality of healthcare professionals.
We don’t know the problem only from statistics, research or conversations with potential users. We know it from home.
And throughout the development of Intake.now, healthcare professionals have remained involved. Their everyday reality determines what Intake.now needs to do: make administration easier without making healthcare itself more complicated.
Because ultimately, Intake.now isn’t about typing faster or having smarter software.
It’s about what becomes possible when administration takes less time.
More attention for the patient.
More peace of mind during a busy working day.
A patient record that doesn’t have to wait until the evening.
And after work?
Time to simply be a partner, mum, dad or friend again.
Less administration. More time for what matters.
That’s the mission that drives us to keep improving Intake.now every day.
Not to bring more technology into healthcare, but to use technology to take work away.
So healthcare professionals can give their attention to the people who need them at that moment.
Their patients during the working day.
And the people they love afterwards.
